I agree this is a nice book and you made a thorough review. It’s always great to find tidbits for beginners even when you are no longer an official beginner. One detail missed is that Kim is a man.

When reviewing a book it would be good to at least get the gender onf the writer correctly. Kim Flottum is a male writer. In you review your statement was “Nor does Flottum restrict her equipment discussion to setting up the traditional Langstroth hives; she also explains in detail how to manage top bar hives. Beyond the equipment, she also describes the different breeds of bees and their comparative merits.”
