Good day. Thank you for all the awesome information here in Backyard Bees.

I live in Nelson Mandela Bay, (Port Elizabeth)Rep of South Africa.

I have 5 hives of African Bees in my backyard-yes, the “killer bees” variety. While they are fiercely protective of their honey & hive, they are totally unmedicated & in all of the 30 years I have kept bees I have only had one incidence of wax moth, due to a contaminated frame I was given.
I have had a total of about 9 stings over the years which are very painful but with full protective gear they can be prevented.

My morning beverage now for several years: cal glass of hot water, 1 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp unfiltered cider vinegar and 1 Tabsp cherry juice extract. Seems to cover all the bases!
