In looking at your list of needed items for a honey house, do you have any changes or additional suggestions since you made this list in 2018? Do you have a preferred vendor for getting these items? I already have an extractor on order…..I don’t have anything else yet. I’ll be using an empty bay in our garage for my honey extraction set up. Thanks for your help!

You need to leave some honey for the bees for the winter. I place the empty supers that I just extracted on top of the hive so they can fill them up with late season nectar to last over the winter. It depends on where you live as to how much honey bees need to survive. The further north you are, the more honey they need. I charge $12 a pound.
