Just wondering if it’s possible to use the graphic “Plant These to Help Save Bees” for handouts at our local Earth Fair this year? Who would we get permission from, if it’s possible to do so?

I love the dozens of articles written by real beekeepers sharing their experience, knowledge and ideas, but this is just garbage.
Neonicotinoids are widely used in Australia, where there is no reports of colony collapse, there are also no Varroa mites. Hawaii had it’s first experience with colony collapse just a couple of years after the accidental introduction of Varroa . . . . you can see where I’m going with this so I’ll stop there.
I really enjoy this site and would hate to unsubscribe, but if I get annoyed enough I will. Leave activist science to blogs and trolls, it doesn’t belong amongst the really great articles you normally publish!

Perhaps they are both to blame and one cannot point a finger at pesticides without also pointing it at the cell phones and towers. Hives were completely abandoned with the introduction of a cell phone to the hive. While I am not sure if one is any more deadly than the other, both should be noted in the fight to save the bees.

Uh, get a life, Jay! Obviously you are full of self importance and have a need to be right. Go bark up another tree, you’ve beaten the dead horse too long. Nobody cares…

Acknowledged, but not cited, even when using such blatantly biased sources like GM Watch and Soil Association.

Why would Monsanto care about anyone’s judgment on neonics? Check the wikipedia article on neonics. Just past the table of contents it lists the active ingredient, manufacturer, brand name, and total sales of each neonic insecticide currently registered with the EPA. None are made by Monsanto.

Also, the EPA, not the USDA has the final say on pesticide approval.

Considering the above two points, 1. Monsanto does not have any registered neonics, and 2. The EPA, not the USDA, grants approval for pesticides, I wonder what any alleged relationship between Monsanto and the USDA has to do with neonics.
