– What cuckoo bee is the author claiming infiltrates Apis melliera colonies?
– The cleptoparasite that bothers bumble bee is in fact a bumble bee; it is in the same genus. Otherwise cuckoo bees are not necessarily “closely related” or genetically similar to the bees they parasitize – they look somewhat similar but are from totally different genera. (But typically within the same family and sometimes the same tribe).
– “Interestingly, any one cleptoparasite species can vary greatly in size, though individuals are never bigger than the host.” – The Bees In Your Backyard. What is the author’s source for the claim that cuckoo bees are bigger and stronger than their hosts?
– Drones. Just, no. The author is 100% incorrect in the section on drones. A queen honeybee DOES NOT mate with her sons. A newly hatched (virgin) queen DOES NOT leave the hive with her brothers and go start a new colony. Just no completely.
– What is the author’s source that the damage done to a solitary species is worse than the damage to a bumble bee colony? What is the author’s source that the host species eggs are allowed to develop and be born (ie that the cuckoo bee does not kill the egg/larvae before taking the food for itself)?

This article needs to be reviewed and HEAVILY edited, maybe even taken down. There are far too many factual errors
