Unfortunately I bought it with bees. Today was the first time I opened lid. It already had some honey in it when I got it about 6 weeks ago. I was thinking the bees may need extra space. I used my smoker for first time. When I opened hive, there were bees on the underside of cover. There were bees all over the inner cover. I did not take inner cover off..there were so many bees. I’m wondering were they on lid and inner cover because of the smoke or do they need additional frames? I also noticed alot of bees at front door. Again because of smoke or guard bees. ? Thank you
