An explanation of what “yucky comb” is would help clear that up. Is all old comb just yucky because it is old? If not, what constitutes yuck? Thank you

It’s January here in northern New England. I happen to find one of my hives partially pushed off it’s brood box. Not sure what partially pushed it off. No tracks in the snow but we just recently got another 8”. So if there were tracks they are hidden. Anyway my hive froze to death. I’m sick over losing a hive. No mites and no moths. So I will have my chickens help with the clean up. At what time should I salvage the honey? Should I do it right away? Wait for it to thaw? Should I take the honey frames and store them in buckets? This will be my first honey harvest.
